Opinions

What is your opinion about the immigration situation in Chile?
I think that Chile has not been able to face the immigration situation in our country in a friendly way. It has only generated policies that show that this government disagrees with the arrival of migrants, such as when Piñera sent Haitians back to their country with the commitment that they would not return in a period of twelve years.
I find it unacceptable that policies that contribute to accepting the foreign brother are not generated, because I have always believed that borders are a human invention, and for that reason the world belongs to everyone.

What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called "mechoneo"?
I consider it an evil practice, I don't find it logical to welcome someone like that, throwing fish, kissing a pig, among other actions. I feel that it demotivates the student. For me a good "mechoneo" would be to receive you with food, music, where everyone is willing to share with the new students

What is your opinion about recycling?
I completely agree. I think that recycling is an action that we should all do and governments should force this. The planet is at risk, and not taking individual measures will damage it more

What is your opinion about the legalization of abortion in some cases?
I am against it, because in my opinion abortion should be legal in any case, as long as it is in a certain time, for example with a maximum of 3 months. So the woman has a time that I think is enough to decide, and the fetus feels no pain because her nervous system would not be developed

Post graduate studies

Hello everyone, this week's blog is about graduate courses that I would like to take in the future.

The truth is that I has rarely asked myself what specific course to do after I finished studying my undergraduate degree. However, I would like to specialize in the environmental field, to study climate change and methods to generate public policies that help reduce it.

I would like to study in Chile or abroad if it were to learn innovative policies from more advanced countries than ours.
I would expect that if I studied in Chile, it were take a part-time course, to be able to work and study at the same time, and if I studied abroad I would also like it to be part-time, to be able to study, work and know the country where I would be doing the course, in order to know their culture, food, interact with other people and travel beautiful places
I hope , in a few years, the value of these courses will decrease in price, because in Chile they are expensive, so I think that if I want to do some I should work after finishing the undergraduate and then save money and do some course. I hope they are cheaper abroad.
Sincerely, I consider it a good opportunity to learn and train me in certain subjects, as well as to have a better curriculum vitae, and to be able to qualify for better work positions as well as to earn more money due to specialization

My future job: from supermarket cashier to public administrator

When I was a little girl (5 years old), I imagined that my future job would be a supermarket cashier (because I believed that the money the cashiers worked with was for them and not a profit for the supermarket). When I knew how that system worked, I imagined my future work as an actress, because I had a great ability to cry if some asked me (pretending). Then, I imagined my future job as a chef, but that idea changed when I realized that it was very good for mathematics, so I imagined my future work as an engineer in some company. I had this idea until the third year of high school when I went to an engineering summer school and I didn't like the content of those classes at all. So the following year, I went to another summer school that was about public administration. That's where I decided to study and I already imagined my future work as a public administrator.

Today I imagine my future work as a public administrator, specializing in the environmental area, constantly attending training, conferences, and other events. I imagine, that I will have (after several years of graduation) a position of leadership and that I will be able, together with an interdisciplinary team, to formulate some public policy to (in environmental matters) that generates a great change in our country

Favorite Chilean TV Personality

Hello my dear readers
Thinking about this topic, I realized that I don't have a favorite Chilean television personality. I think it is because I rarely watch television, because I frequently watch Netflix or series and movies through my computer. However, almost every Sunday I see with my mom and my sister "Contra viento y marea" (channel 13), and I can say that I like the personality of Pancho Saavedra. I like it because I feel that he manages to empathize with people, his laughter is contagious and when people see him he always tends to hug him and smile at him. He seems to be a humble guy. The same proves to be in "places that speak"
Another personality of Chilean television that I like is that of Monica Rincon, a CNN Chile journalist. I like it because I consider her a very intelligent woman, without any fear of saying things as they are, and when interviewing she is very direct. With that personality (in my opinion) stands out among journalists.
I also like Tamara Acosta very much. I think that any person assigned to her will perform well, I like her personality to adapt to any characters, from an old one like in " Los 80s" to completely different characters like in the comedy "Amor a la Catalana" (a co
medy that I saw two days and I got bored hahaah, but Tamara acted well)
Those are mainly the promptness that I like about Chilean television, although without a doubt in the first place is Pancho Saavedra.

Summer or Winter? Definitely none

Hello readers
I asked myself if I prefer summer or winter, I concluded that I do not have a preference for one of those seasons.
Without a doubt my favorite season of the year (which I would not change for anything) is spring. I love the colors of the trees and flowers, also that the days are very beautiful and clear neither with so much heat nor with cold. Also, I adore that spring arrives in September !! in my favorite month of the year (for the national holidays). I feel that Chileans in September are happy, and what better?, Several days off to celebrate with the family and friends the independence of the country, drink alcohol, eat delicious Chilean food ... all this with some beautiful days that spring brings.
I would not like at all that these celebrations were held in summer, very hot, without wanting to leave the house because of the high temperatures, or in winter with rain, it would be very encouraging for me
Well, in conclusion, I prefer neither summer nor winter, without a doubt spring is the season I love most of the year

The best vacations of my life

In October 2016 with my sister and my mother, we decided that the following year we would go on vacation abroad. In this way, we went to a travel agency and bought a package to go in April 2017 to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia for two weeks

One of the places we visited near Cartagena was "Isla Barú". There they took my photograph. When I saw those waters, I was really impressed. They are very beautiful (they are as seen in the photograph). I remember that after taking that picture, we did snorkel. Without a doubt, that has been one of the best experiences of my life. At first, I was very scared, as I was literally swimming in the middle of the sea with various fish, but after a few minutes, I felt such an ineffable sensation, seeing corals and beautiful colored fish. We were about 40 minutes at sea. After that we went to lunch and to drink "coco
loco" and "piña colada", two exquisite drinks that are often taken in that area

Without doubt been the best trip (vacation) of my life, because I was able to live new experiences like taking a plane, eating new food, swimming with fish, sharing with people from other countries. It was a very enriching trip

I would love to travel to Barcelona

My sister two years ago traveled to Europe. When she arrived in Chile after a month without seeing her, she told me about the wonderful places that she met. It is for this reason that I would love to know Barcelona because it is a place with a lot of bohemia, a very youthful atmosphere and is close to different beaches. Besides, there is the "Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia", which began construction in 1882 and is not yet finished. In photographs, it looks very big. I would love to see it one day with my own eyes.
I would also like to see the wonders of Gaudí  (I leave you a photo to see that beautiful architecture)
Every summer (since 2018) I have worked to be able to make this trip in the coming years, and thus be able to visit Barcelona and other places in Europe such as Santorini (Greece), Czech Republic, among others. I hope to travel before leaving university because after that I have other plans for my future.
