Opinions

What is your opinion about the immigration situation in Chile?
I think that Chile has not been able to face the immigration situation in our country in a friendly way. It has only generated policies that show that this government disagrees with the arrival of migrants, such as when Piñera sent Haitians back to their country with the commitment that they would not return in a period of twelve years.
I find it unacceptable that policies that contribute to accepting the foreign brother are not generated, because I have always believed that borders are a human invention, and for that reason the world belongs to everyone.

What is your opinion about the Chilean tradition called "mechoneo"?
I consider it an evil practice, I don't find it logical to welcome someone like that, throwing fish, kissing a pig, among other actions. I feel that it demotivates the student. For me a good "mechoneo" would be to receive you with food, music, where everyone is willing to share with the new students

What is your opinion about recycling?
I completely agree. I think that recycling is an action that we should all do and governments should force this. The planet is at risk, and not taking individual measures will damage it more

What is your opinion about the legalization of abortion in some cases?
I am against it, because in my opinion abortion should be legal in any case, as long as it is in a certain time, for example with a maximum of 3 months. So the woman has a time that I think is enough to decide, and the fetus feels no pain because her nervous system would not be developed

Post graduate studies

Hello everyone, this week's blog is about graduate courses that I would like to take in the future.

The truth is that I has rarely asked myself what specific course to do after I finished studying my undergraduate degree. However, I would like to specialize in the environmental field, to study climate change and methods to generate public policies that help reduce it.

I would like to study in Chile or abroad if it were to learn innovative policies from more advanced countries than ours.
I would expect that if I studied in Chile, it were take a part-time course, to be able to work and study at the same time, and if I studied abroad I would also like it to be part-time, to be able to study, work and know the country where I would be doing the course, in order to know their culture, food, interact with other people and travel beautiful places
I hope , in a few years, the value of these courses will decrease in price, because in Chile they are expensive, so I think that if I want to do some I should work after finishing the undergraduate and then save money and do some course. I hope they are cheaper abroad.
Sincerely, I consider it a good opportunity to learn and train me in certain subjects, as well as to have a better curriculum vitae, and to be able to qualify for better work positions as well as to earn more money due to specialization

My future job: from supermarket cashier to public administrator

When I was a little girl (5 years old), I imagined that my future job would be a supermarket cashier (because I believed that the money the cashiers worked with was for them and not a profit for the supermarket). When I knew how that system worked, I imagined my future work as an actress, because I had a great ability to cry if some asked me (pretending). Then, I imagined my future job as a chef, but that idea changed when I realized that it was very good for mathematics, so I imagined my future work as an engineer in some company. I had this idea until the third year of high school when I went to an engineering summer school and I didn't like the content of those classes at all. So the following year, I went to another summer school that was about public administration. That's where I decided to study and I already imagined my future work as a public administrator.

Today I imagine my future work as a public administrator, specializing in the environmental area, constantly attending training, conferences, and other events. I imagine, that I will have (after several years of graduation) a position of leadership and that I will be able, together with an interdisciplinary team, to formulate some public policy to (in environmental matters) that generates a great change in our country

Favorite Chilean TV Personality

Hello my dear readers
Thinking about this topic, I realized that I don't have a favorite Chilean television personality. I think it is because I rarely watch television, because I frequently watch Netflix or series and movies through my computer. However, almost every Sunday I see with my mom and my sister "Contra viento y marea" (channel 13), and I can say that I like the personality of Pancho Saavedra. I like it because I feel that he manages to empathize with people, his laughter is contagious and when people see him he always tends to hug him and smile at him. He seems to be a humble guy. The same proves to be in "places that speak"
Another personality of Chilean television that I like is that of Monica Rincon, a CNN Chile journalist. I like it because I consider her a very intelligent woman, without any fear of saying things as they are, and when interviewing she is very direct. With that personality (in my opinion) stands out among journalists.
I also like Tamara Acosta very much. I think that any person assigned to her will perform well, I like her personality to adapt to any characters, from an old one like in " Los 80s" to completely different characters like in the comedy "Amor a la Catalana" (a co
medy that I saw two days and I got bored hahaah, but Tamara acted well)
Those are mainly the promptness that I like about Chilean television, although without a doubt in the first place is Pancho Saavedra.

Summer or Winter? Definitely none

Hello readers
I asked myself if I prefer summer or winter, I concluded that I do not have a preference for one of those seasons.
Without a doubt my favorite season of the year (which I would not change for anything) is spring. I love the colors of the trees and flowers, also that the days are very beautiful and clear neither with so much heat nor with cold. Also, I adore that spring arrives in September !! in my favorite month of the year (for the national holidays). I feel that Chileans in September are happy, and what better?, Several days off to celebrate with the family and friends the independence of the country, drink alcohol, eat delicious Chilean food ... all this with some beautiful days that spring brings.
I would not like at all that these celebrations were held in summer, very hot, without wanting to leave the house because of the high temperatures, or in winter with rain, it would be very encouraging for me
Well, in conclusion, I prefer neither summer nor winter, without a doubt spring is the season I love most of the year

The best vacations of my life

In October 2016 with my sister and my mother, we decided that the following year we would go on vacation abroad. In this way, we went to a travel agency and bought a package to go in April 2017 to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia for two weeks

One of the places we visited near Cartagena was "Isla Barú". There they took my photograph. When I saw those waters, I was really impressed. They are very beautiful (they are as seen in the photograph). I remember that after taking that picture, we did snorkel. Without a doubt, that has been one of the best experiences of my life. At first, I was very scared, as I was literally swimming in the middle of the sea with various fish, but after a few minutes, I felt such an ineffable sensation, seeing corals and beautiful colored fish. We were about 40 minutes at sea. After that we went to lunch and to drink "coco
loco" and "piña colada", two exquisite drinks that are often taken in that area

Without doubt been the best trip (vacation) of my life, because I was able to live new experiences like taking a plane, eating new food, swimming with fish, sharing with people from other countries. It was a very enriching trip

I would love to travel to Barcelona

My sister two years ago traveled to Europe. When she arrived in Chile after a month without seeing her, she told me about the wonderful places that she met. It is for this reason that I would love to know Barcelona because it is a place with a lot of bohemia, a very youthful atmosphere and is close to different beaches. Besides, there is the "Expiatory Temple of the Sagrada Familia", which began construction in 1882 and is not yet finished. In photographs, it looks very big. I would love to see it one day with my own eyes.
I would also like to see the wonders of Gaudí  (I leave you a photo to see that beautiful architecture)
Every summer (since 2018) I have worked to be able to make this trip in the coming years, and thus be able to visit Barcelona and other places in Europe such as Santorini (Greece), Czech Republic, among others. I hope to travel before leaving university because after that I have other plans for my future.

Evaluation of the blog experience

When I found out that doing a blog, it would be a kind of evaluation, I found it interesting. Without a doubt writing the blog, it was easy, I can not say that entertaining or boring, just take it as a responsibility that should be made of the university. Yes, I can say that I liked this type of evaluation because it can be done anywhere. In addition, if there was little time to make the delivery and you forgot, in 10 minutes you could have the blog ready and send it, and then comment on the blog of 3 people (which does not have a description of how the comment should be , too it was quite easy to perform)
In fact, it was an evaluation that turned out to be easy and comfortable, even more so because I could do other tasks and works from other courses and at the end of the day, make the blog without any problems.
I hope that in the future, it is considered again to make this type of evaluation, that being quite flexible and easy, it helps us to organize ourselves and to devote more time to other tasks more complex to perform.

My favorite food is Noodles with Alfredo sauce

My favorite food is the noodles with Alfredo sauce and striped cheese. I love that sauce because the mixture of the cream, and the ham in pieces with the striped cheese tastes so good. Very delicious!.
Without a doubt the best noodles with Alfredo sauce that I have tried, are the ones my grandmother cooks, but when there are days when I want to go out for lunch, I go to a place where they  sell pasta at a very inexpensive price. This is close to the Parque Quinta Normal, specifically within Matucana100, there is "lamicropasta" is a “bus” who use it as kitchen and its surroundings have many pallets that became chairs and tables ideally lunch with the family. In Lamicropasta they sell those exquisite noodles with Afredo sauce, as well as others with Bolognese sauce, and others. Also sometimes they cook risotto and seafood. I love that place because you can even go to it in winter, because they close it and turn on the stoves. The best thing is that after going to eat some delicious noodles, you can go for a walk to Parque Quinta Normal and access the Natural History Museum.

Environmental problems: a subject that I liked to study this semester

I have always been interested in the environmental issue, it seems a paradox to me that every day we do our daily life without thinking or reflecting that we are polluting in high quantities and that at some point this will have great consequences, including the extinction of being human; consequences that we are already experiencing, but which we continue to ignore.
This year I set myself as the goal of the year, participate in all the instances within my reach to learn more about this topic. So, in April I went to the first school of climate change, where I learned that the temperature of the earth has already risen one degree since the industrial revolution and that this increase of one degree has accelerated the melting of the Antarctic and Antarctic, acidification of the oceans, changes in climate, sea level rise, among other consequences.
For a few months now, I have been participating in talks made by lawyers specializing in the environment, who have spoken about the COP25 and a possible law of climate change.
I liked to participate in these instances, because once I acquire that knowledge, I try to transmit it to my neighbors, so that they also become aware, talk about the subject to others and change their habits.

"Agenda Escolar": the best application that helps you study

If you need to organize yourself to study and perform your tasks without forgetting it, you must use the "Agenda Escolar" application available in the Play store.
"Agenda Escolar" is an application for students that was created to organize academic life and have everything under control. Thanks to this application you can write down the tasks you must do, the dates of your tests and the best thing is that the notifications of the application remind you when the date of an event that you established is approaching
A very good aspect is that it allows managing the ratings thanks to the automatic calculation of the average

However, one of the weaknesses is that it does not include a system of attendance records, which would be of great help to me, especially in the "physical conditioning" course, which I sometimes do not attend, because I study for other courses. In this way, if the application had this function, I could know with certainty (according to my records) how many classes I have not attended, and whether I am approving the class for assistance or not.

My favorite writer is Joanne Rowling

My favorite writer is Joanne Rowling. She was born on July 31, 1965. She writes texts related to fantasy, presenting characters with powers, magic, among other characteristics. The most important book and for which she has become famous is by the saga "Harry Potter".

Perhaps, you know her like  "JK Rowling", because before publishing his first novel, "Bloomsbury publishing house" feared that younger readers would be reluctant to buy books written by a woman and asked her to use two initials and not her name .She hasn't middle name, so she chose the letter K as his second initial in honor of his paternal grandmother Kathleen. After her marriage, she often uses the name Joanne Murray when she carries out private affairs. She calling herself Jo, saying "nobody called me Joanne when I was a child, unless they were angry with me"
As a curious fact: Forbes has named Rowling as the first person to earn a billion US dollars for writing books, the second richest woman artist and the number one person with the most money in the world

The Story Behind The Photograph: "Isla Barú"

In October 2016 with my sister and my mother, we decided that the following year we would go on vacation abroad. In this way, we went to a travel agency and bought a package to go in April 2017 to Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Vikings: one of the best series in history

My favorite series is Vikings. Vikings can watch it on Netflix, however part 2 of season number 5 is not available on Netflix, but on sites like "pelisplay.tv".

The series
is mainly about the Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, one of the most famous heroes of the Nordic culture who sacked Northumbria, France, and Brittany. The series portrays Lothbrok as a curious and navigating warrior, ambitious and rebellious, who wants to explore different territories. These adventures are producing a series of changes in the life of Lothbrok in various areas

I like the series because it provokes an emotion about "what will happen?" when Lothbrok perform certain acts. It generates quite an uncertainty, especially the end of seasons. In addition to not only dealing with travel and looting, but also shows how the Vikings were related to other cultures, shows the love relationships between them, the growth of Kattegat (where  lived Lothbrok ), the way of life of women Viking wars, among other aspects that I consider quite relevant about the Viking culture.

My Favorite Technological Device: My Mac

My favorite technological device is my Macbook. It is my favorite device, because it is the instrument that I use the most in the university, because it helps me to take notes of the classes of the professors who speak very fast, it helps me to do homework, also to contact my colleagues when we do write work through Google Drive, to watch movies by Netflix lying in bed. Besides that, it is my favorite device
because I bought it with money that I saved in the 4 years of high school, so it is "fruit of my effort"
I like it a lot because it is very light and easy to transport, in addition to its internal system is very fast compared to other computers that I had previously (like Lenovo) and what I appreciated most of it, is that its battery lasts more than six hours, And I love that

Why do I study Public Administration?

I decided to study Public Administration when I was in high school. In the third year of secondary school,  my teacher Marcela taught me the history of Chile. The way of teaching and explaining my teacher made me hooked on the history of Chile and that it would be a pleasure to study it. Thus, by analyzing the dynamism that our country has presented, seeing its changes, the problems that it has faced, made I want to be part of history and want to be able to influence it, for example by creating something that I will bring well-being to many people (as a public policy).

At the beginning of the last year of high school, to be more sure of my choice, I went to a summer school at the University of Chile, where I attended a course in "political science" (which oriented to study public administration).  It completely pleasures to go to those summer school classes.
